We engaged with several property companies to understand their renewable energy strategies, the pace of solar panel installations across their portfolios and how these investments support operational resilience, cost savings and emissions reduction.

Engagement rationale

Energy security, rising electricity costs and the transition to a lower-carbon economy make renewable energy an important focus area for the listed property sector.

Our engagement

We engaged with several property companies to understand their renewable energy strategies, the pace of solar panel installations across their portfolios and how these investments support operational resilience, cost savings and emissions reduction.

Outcomes

The companies demonstrated a strong commitment to expanding on-site renewable energy generation, with solar installations becoming an integral part of their capital allocation and sustainability strategies. Many have continued to increase installed capacity and are embedding renewable energy into both new developments and existing assets.

Next steps

We will continue monitoring the implementation of these renewable energy programmes, track progress against emissions reduction targets and encourage further investment in clean energy solutions that enhance both environmental performance and long-term shareholder value.
