Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about how to invest with us

What is All Weather Capital's investment philosophy?

It's style-agnostic and grounded in intrinsic value: the view is that no single investment style works at all times, so the firm adapts - buying higher-quality businesses at a premium and lower-quality businesses at a discount, depending on prevailing conditions.

What products does All Weather Capital offer?

A Long Short Performance Hedge Fund, a Market Neutral Hedge Fund, a General Equity Unit Trust Fund, a Global Emerging Markets strategy, and a range of BCI-branded unit trusts spanning balanced, bond, property and equity mandates.

What is the monthly fixed admin fee some funds mention?

For at least one fund (the All Weather BCI Balanced Fund A1), a R15 (excl. VAT) monthly fixed admin fee applies to direct investor accounts with balances below R100,000 at month end, unless the investor transacts online, in which case the fee doesn't apply.

Can All Weather suspend my ability to withdraw funds?

Yes, in limited circumstances - a manager may suspend repurchases for a period, subject to regulatory approval, to await sufficient liquidity in the portfolio, and is required to keep investors informed while this is in effect.

How long does it take to get my money back when I redeem?

Redemptions (repurchases) are generally paid out within five business days, depending on the liquidity of the portfolio's underlying securities and cash. A manager may suspend repurchases for a period, subject to regulatory approval, to await liquidity, and must keep investors informed throughout.

Where can I check the latest unit prices or the Total Expense Ratio (TER)?

Latest prices and TER are published daily in the Cape Times Business Report and are also made available on www.allweather.co.za.

Does All Weather Capital charge a performance fee?

It varies by fund. The All Weather BCI Balanced Fund (A1), for instance, does not charge a performance fee, while other funds apply a performance fee (commonly structured as a percentage of outperformance above a hurdle, subject to a high-water mark). Check the specific fund's MDD and Performance Fee FAQ document for its exact terms.

What is the minimum investment?

It depends on the fund. A number of the BCI unit trusts - for example the All Weather BCI Balanced Fund (A1), BCI Bond Fund (A1) and BCI Best Ideas Equity Fund - currently show no minimum investment, while the All Weather H4 Performance Retail Hedge Fund requires a R25,000 lump sum minimum. Always check the specific fund's latest MDD.

Who do I contact for assistance or questions about an investment?

You can contact All Weather Capital's client service team on +27 11 722 7382 or at clientservice@allweather.co.za.
