Engagement Rationale
Executive remuneration should be aligned with long-term shareholder interests and incentivise sustainable value creation. We had concerns that certain aspects of the company’s remuneration policy did not sufficiently reflect these principles.
Our engagement
Over a number of years, we engaged extensively with the company and its Remuneration Committee to discuss the design of the remuneration policy, the alignment of performance measures with long-term shareholder value, and opportunities to strengthen governance and transparency. Throughout this process, we provided constructive feedback and practical recommendations to better align executive incentives with shareholder expectations.
Outcomes
The company demonstrated a willingness to listen and respond to shareholder concerns by incorporating several of our recommendations into successive revisions of its remuneration policy. These changes have strengthened the alignment between executive pay and long-term performance and have been positively received by shareholders, with support for the remuneration policy increasing over time.
Next Steps
We will continue engaging with the company to ensure the remuneration framework remains aligned with evolving governance best practices, supports long-term sustainable performance, and continues to reflect shareholder interests.
